The Double Oaks Essentials Iceberg Edition is a leather ejector-style wallet with a metal card-holding portion of the wallet that slips out of the leather to be attached to the back of a MagSafe device; the leather is of the highest quality and is a stunning blue, that comes with the Iceberg Edition, making this wallet one of the nicest out there. The wallet features a card pocket located on the outside and an integrated money slot on the front flap of this wallet.

This wallet is a very elegant and well-made card holder with a leather wallet sleeve. The leather wallet sleeve has two card slots and an integrated money slot. This wallet is made out of high-quality leather that is available in many different color variations in leather and the metal that the cardholder is made out of, so you can find a truly personal look. It is also available in a slim version if you don’t want or need the additional card slots.

What do I like about this wallet?

1. The MagSafe ability is awesome.

The mag safe card holder is so convenient to just slip the cardholder out and slap it on your phone; it makes this wallet kinda like having two wallets. When you want to carry cash and extra cards, you can have it all together in one elegant and simple package, or you can just have a bare-bones card holder if you want to just have your necessary cards, say if you are going to the gym or just running out for lunch super quick.

2. It has high-quality leather.

The leather on this wallet is one of the top things about this wallet for me (Paid Link); it is extremely high quality, and the wallet itself is very well constructed. Even stitching and well embossed with the double oaks logo on the front and on the inside. There is not a lot on the market at this price point that will have this level of craftsmanship and leather quality.

3. I appreciate the locking portion of the cardholder.

The locking card holder is so amazing. It keeps the cards in when you want them and is built into the ejecting mechanism, so you don’t need to fumble with taking the lock off separately and then ejecting the cards. This is a feature I didn’t think would matter, but it is by far one of the things I have come to love about this wallet.

4. The 7-card capacity is perfect.

The ability to hold 7 cards inside the cardholder is so convenient and is a definite plus for this wallet. It is more than other wallets I have tested without being a large card holder.

What do I NOT like about this Double Oak?

1. It’s extremely thick with leather outer.

This wallet is a thick one… this is the number one thing I don’t like about it; I usually carry my wallet in my pants pocket, and I don’t do that with the Double Oak Essentials. It is just too big. This is the “full” version, so I do think that having the slim would be better if you intend to carry this in your pockets; that’s just me; maybe you are fine with a big wallet in your pockets, and if you are one of those people then disregard this and move on to the second point.

Austin found this exact same issue when he reviewed the Founder’s Edition over here.

2. The dye likes to leak out of the leather.

As much as the leather is a plus, I have found if it gets just a little bit damp or even wet… the dye from the leather will start to come off, and you will have it on you; this is not a common occurrence but even if it’s raining at the drive-thru and your hand gets wet from interacting and having your window down. If you handle the wallet, the dye starts to come off.

Who should buy the Double Oak Iceberg Edition?

You want this wallet if you are looking for a higher capacity wallet for your business cards and you have cash consistently on you, and you don’t mind having a “bigger” wallet. If you are looking for a smaller wallet, maybe look at the slim version of this wallet if you like the look but don’t need a larger wallet.
