If you’ve decided, it’s time for a minimalist wallet that will help you access your cards quickly and easily you’ll want to consider the ones we’ve tested and reviewed. But the Pop-Up Wallets we tested don’t just eject your cards in an array so you have instant access to the card you need, many offer other helpful and interesting functions.
The wallets we tested offered options to hold cash as well as cards, wallets made from aluminum, RFID blocking and even a “find my iPhone” feature. We tell you what we liked, what worked and even what we didn’t like about the wallets covered in this review.
Quick Note: Every wallet on this list was given to us by their respective brand, but we do not in any way guarantee coverage or types of coverage.

1. LORZOR Wallet PRO

- Completely trackable via iPhone's FindMy network
- Spring loaded mechanism works well
- Looks extremely cool - very unique
- Durability of the spring mechanism is in question
As I noted in my review my expectations were minimal when the company provided this one for review. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the wallet. It was well made, worked as expected and is the only wallet I own that has a spring-loaded card ejector mechanism. Most other wallets have a push button feature.
The most surprising and unique feature of the Lozor wallet will please iPhone users. It has a built-in tracker mechanism for the Find My iPhone feature. It’s integrated well into the wallet and only adds slight bit of extra bulk. It also uses a clear tech design and for those who love clear tech, this is a definite plus.
2. Ekster Cardholder Pro

- It has the metal ejector mechanism it deserves
- Seems more durable paint wise
- Inclusion of the more rubbery band is awesome
- Finally, it has a higher card capacity
- The rounded corner is a nice touch
- Expansion plates are the best
- Now includes a lifetime warranty
- Still wouldn’t recommend the money clip plate
- It’s still larger than the competition
I’ve been a fan of Ekster wallets for a long time but have not been a fan of their lackluster warranty and the plastic ejector mechanism. I am happy to report that both of these issues were revolved with the release of their new Pro series wallets. The Pro series Have a full ejector button, capacity for an additional card and a lifetime warranty.
This wallet is impressive. The expansion plate allows space for extra cards and cash is easy to store in the cash strap. The only downside I found was that it’s a bit bigger than some if it’s competitors due to the placement of the ejector mechanism underneath the cards.
3. Groove Life Wallet 3.0

- High quality build
- One of the best money clips
- Satisfying ejector mechanism
- Lower than average card capacity
The Groove Wallet has been in the bottom of my “best of” reviews for a while. Although it’s a high quality and the face plate ejector mechanism is fun, I have never found it to reach the level of the other metal wallets on the top of my reviews. This changed with the release of the 3.0 version and has moved the wallet further up on my list.
The 3.0 version provides a notch in the face of the wallet (this is the portion that slides upward and ejects the cards). This change stops the thumb from sliding on the slick material and offers the user more confidence. It is also the first wallet I enjoy using and I prefer its money clip. This version of the Groove Life wallet is fantastic and worth recommending.
4. Double Oak Essentials Slim Sleeve

- Aluminum cardholder is magnetic
- Leather feels fantastic
- Very high build quality
- Lockable cardholder (cards don't fall out)
- Not much card storage outside of the cardholder.
This ejector wallet has it all, the design is well thought out, it is MagSafe and has plenty of leather. This was one of the first ejector wallets with a 7-card interior capacity. It’s also the only ejector wallet I’ve seen that is just as at home as a leather wrapped minimalist wallet as it is being magnetized to the back of your phone.
I am hard pressed to point out any features about this wallet that aren’t great other than the leather outer portion doesn’t offer much useable storage and that I would prefer that the ejector mechanism was metal rather than plastic.
5. Double Oak Founder’s Edition

- The cardholder is removable from the wallet.
- The top-grain leather feels awesome.
- The cardholder mechanism is reliable and clicks.
- MagSafe compatible
- The gold color looks fantastic.
- Cards can get jammed in the cardholder.
- With the leather portion, it is quite thick
- Dimensions: 4.1" High by 2.7" Wide by .75" Deep
- RFID Blocking: Yes
- Card Capacity: 1 to 10
- Cash Organization: Yes
- Coin Storage: No
- Weight: Unknown
This wallet is one of my all-time favorites. It’s a perfect blend of the traditional leather wallet with the modern ejector-style cardholder. The leather used is top-grain and features its own storage compartments for cards and cash. The cardholder is fully aluminum and sports one of my favorite all-metal push-button ejectors. It offers maximum card capacity holding up to seven cards, where most ejector wallets offer space for six cards.
Another feature I appreciate the ability to slide the cardholder out of the wallet to use as a MagSafe compatible way to hold cards on the pack of your phone.
There are a few things II found that were not positive. When the ou8ter leather was being used, the wallet became incredibly thick. I have been told that there is a thinner version of this wallet coming out soon. I also found that there is a spot where the cards can become jammed and it’s difficult to release them.
6. Ekster Carbon Fiber

- Dimensions: 0.29" by 4.1" by 2.3"
- RFID Blocking: Yes
- Card Capacity: 1 to 15 ( 1-6 in main cardholder, additional 9 in backup storage)
- Cash Organization: Strap
- Coin Storage: No
- Weight: 59 - 87 grams (depending on material)
- Extremely easy to access up to six cards
- High quality build
- Expandable storage
- Easy to access cash
- A bit larger than competition
- Moving parts can wear
This was the first ejector wallet I ever owned and still remains one of my favorites. Although it doesn’t have a leather outer portion as some of the other ejector wallets do, the cardholder is made of forged fiber. This doesn’t have a meaningful impact on the weight of the wallet, but it is a very cool feature.
Just like all Ekster cardholders, up to six cards are easily ejected using the push button on the bottom of the wallet. Additional cards can be held behind an expansion plate and cash can be kept behind the cash strap on the reverse side offering all the space you need.
The problems I found with this wallet were the carbon fiber and the size. The carbon fiber’s clear coating wore quickly, leaving what looked like fingerprints. I would recommend the 3K carbon fiber due to this issue. The wallet is larger than most of the other ejector wallets I’ve reviewed.
7. Ekster Wallet Pro

- All-metal button and ejector mechanism
- High quality Italian leather
- My favorite cardholder ever
- Amazing alternative to a bifold
- Still a bit bulky
I was happy when Exter released their Pro versions of their cardholders. The Pro series expanded card capacity to seven cards, updated the warranty to a limited lifetime warranty and gave them an all-aluminum card ejector mechanism and button.
This is one of my favorite versions of the use of expansion plate and a rubber cash strap that stays put and you have an awesome minimalist wallet.
This wallet is still one of my all-time favorites despite it’s issue with the election mechanism and button being located at the at the bottom which makes it longer and larger than some of the competition.
8. Andar “The” Pilot
I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post.
- The top-grain leather is incredibly nice.
- I appreciate the quick access card slot.
- It’s a reasonable price for the quality
- The cash strap is one of the best yet
- I wish it had a metal ejector button and mechanism
- An additional card in its capacity would be awesome
This wallet is beautiful featuring a card holder completely wrapped in high-quality, full-grain leather and is perfect for those who want a professional full-grain leather look without the bulk of a regular wallet.
It features a quick access slot, an impressive cash strap and is reasonably priced.
There are two downsides that I noticed. The first is that the capacity of the wallet is limited to seven or eight cards (six fit in the cardholder). The second downside is that the ejector mechanism and button are both made of plastic.
9. Groove Wallet Trace
I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post.
- It has a fantastic card capacity.
- The wallet is fully-trackable
- Much slimmer than traditional wallets
- Easy to set up the tracking capabilities
- It's quite expensive.
- I didn't care for the money clip.
- Dimensions: 3.88" High by 2.48" Wide by .38" Deep
- RFID Blocking: Yes
- Card Capacity: 1 to 6
- Cash Organization: Money Clip
- Coin Storage: No
- Weight: Unknown
This wallet was introduced following the success of the original Groove Wallet. This wallet includes a hidden compartment for a proprietary tracker card from the company. Our product reviewer, Adam carried this wallet for a while and was very impressed, referring to it as “the Ferrari of wallets” but he wasn’t sure the price was worth it.
Things Adam liked were the six-card capacity, the fact that the wallet is trackable and that the tracker is easy to set up and the slimness of the wallet (he chose to remove the money clip to make it slimmer).
The issues with this wallet were that the money clip; didn’t work well for him as it held the money too tightly and the price of the wallet.
This wallet is a good buy for someone who doesn’t need more than a six-card capacity and who appreciates the tracking feature.
10. Ekster Cardholder Aluminum
I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post.
- Fantastic card capacity
- Easy access to plenty of cards
- Great day-to-day usability
- Lots of color options available
- Only a 2-year warranty
- Fabric elastic band allows external cards to slide around
- Dimensions: 4.1" High by 2.3" Wide by .29" Deep
- RFID Blocking: Yes
- Card Capacity: 1 to 12
- Cash Organization: Strap
- Coin Storage: No
- Weight: 87 Grams
This wallet started the Ekster revolution and is a fully aluminum bodied version of the Ekster carbon fiber wallet. It holds up to six cards that are fanned out in front of you when you eject the cards from the holder. Additional cards and cash can be carried in the exterior of the wallet.
This wallet offers all of the features that Ekster customers love, and it offers a selection of colors.
The issue with this wallet is that the aluminum body is painted the color the customer requests and the paint shows the wear quickly (we found in a couple of weeks) and nicks and scratches are quite evident against the silver aluminum. However, this is an issue with aesthetics and not function.
