I’ve used hundreds of cases over the years, especially for the time that I used to sell cell phones, so I’ve had a chance to try tons of different cases on tons of different phones. However, this is the first time I’ve had the pleasure of trying out a Mous case, and more specifically, their Limitless line, and I am oh so glad that they were willing to give me this one, as it’s quickly become one of my go-to cases for my iPhone 17 Pro.
In this review I’ll be chatting about what this case is, who it’s for, and what exactly I did (and didn’t like) about it.

So what is the Mous Limitless case?

- The buttons are among the best I’ve ever used on a case.
- The wood on the case feels great and is unique.
- It curves inward, so you don’t feel the case when using it.
- It doesn’t feel cheap.
- The case seems to actually protect the phone.
- MagSafe compatibility is perfect.
- The biggest issue is the price.
This is a single-piece phone case (Paid Link) from one of the most social-media-forward phone case brands out there right now. It’s offered in plenty of different finishes (of which mine is the Walnut material), but also has other wood and fiber materials as well.
The camera is protected extra well, and they tout that their camera control button (which, let’s be honest, no one uses) is even more well-protected with tons of layers of different materials to make it work seamlessly. Corners of the case are protected with what they call AiroShock, and of course, it’s equipped with additional magnets for MagSafe, which allow up to 15 watts of charging.
So what do I like about the Limitless case?
1. The buttons are among the best I’ve ever used on a case.

You might be surprised to find that my all-time favorite feature on this case is the phone, but it really is. While many cases dull down the clickiness of my iPhone’s buttons, this one (Paid Link) amplifies it and makes it feel like a true extension of the iPhone’s hardware, rather than a detractor of it. I don’t struggle to push any of the buttons, and they are all just as easy to push as they would be if I didn’t have the case at all.
2. The wood on the case feels great and is unique.

Most cases look the same, let’s be honest. You have the black cases, the clear cases, and the weird color cases. However, what you don’t see too often is wood on a case, and that’s the “case” here. In fact, this is actually one of the few cases I think works well with my orange iPhone (no, I don’t regret getting orange). The wood looks great, feels great, and doesn’t seem to scratch really at all with usage. Overall, I’m quite impressed with the material, and I’m glad I ordered this specific one.
3. It curves inward, so you don’t feel the case when using it.

This is a feature that I think most people who own this case don’t even notice, but would if it weren’t there. Many cases out there raise the outer edges of the case upward, so that when your phone falls face down on the ground, it hits the edges instead. However, the big drawback to that is it affects the usability of the phone, even making it difficult to press buttons on the very sides of the case.
However, Mous decided to taper the case downward on the sides (Paid Link). This means you get the protection of the raised edges, but not the lack of usability. Smart.
4. It doesn’t feel cheap.

Sure, in the end, this is just a plastic case (with some walnut on it). However, in my mind, there are different levels of plastic-y-ness, and this case does a great job of hiding it. While I do very much enjoy cases like the Arc Pulse, in those times that I can’t handle my phone being quite as exposed, this is an amazing secondary option that I find myself in regularly. The case doesn’t feel cheap, stays in your hands, and works well.
5. The case seems to actually protect the phone.

I have no idea why this feature is so low down on this list, but yes, the case actually protects my phone. While I can’t exactly give you numbers on how well it does it, the internal corners have a gummy-ish AiroShock material, which should take some of the shock when you drop your phone. Everything else is well protected from the elements, like the camera bump, the sides, and the bottom. I actually do not doubt that their attempts at dropping this off a dam in their ads are actually true.
In fact, when I went on a trip recently, this was the case (out of the 10+ cases I have right now) that I chose to take with me. My intention was not to review anything, or think about cases at all, however I chose this as my go-to case. Which says something.
6. MagSafe compatibility is perfect.

Not every case has good MagSafe capabilities, and that isn’t the case here. It works exactly as you would expect, keeps your wallets, phone stands, and just about anything you’d use MagSafe with in high quality. I also very much appreciate that they don’t show the MagSafe portion of the case like every other company out there. Yes, I know. There’s MagSafe… I don’t have to constantly be reminded.
What do I not like about it?
1. The biggest issue is the price.

I don’t have much to complain about with this case. It does its job, does it well, and looks and feels awesome while doing it. The biggest struggle I have with this case is its price. It’s just expensive at around $70, depending on when and where you buy it. That’s a hefty price for what is essentially a piece of plastic. That said, it’s a piece of plastic that I actually do trust to protect my $1000+ investment, so you do that math yourself.
Who is the Mous Limitless Case for?
The Limitless case isn’t for everyone. If you are someone who just picks a random case off the internet that looks nice and costs you less than a cup of coffee, you’ll easily be scared away by the price point. However, if you are a tech enthusiast who truly understands what you have in the latest phones, and wants to protect it, and trusts that it actually is protected, this is for you. You’ll just be a bit lower on cash because of it.
