This AL68 mechanical keyboard that Yunzii gave me a while back is a phenomenal 60% keyboard, one of the nicest I’ve ever used, from premium parts to a great price point. This keyboard is truly in a league of its own and honestly, I would like to buy more of their products just to test out more of the very unique designs.
The build quality is top notch with a heavyweight aluminum base featuring a very nice inlay into the back of the case, a price that is way below the high end features that this keyboard offers, it maybe one of the best mechanical keyboards for the money on the market.

What is the YUNZII AL68?

- The aluminum case is impressive for the price.
- The switches are fantastic.
- The connection to your computer is flexible.
- Very short sleep timer
- Keyboard software is lacking
The Yunzii AL 68 (Paid Link)is a mechanical 68% wireless keyboard with RGB back, featuring a lighting/media control knob, premium aluminum housing, and south-facing RGB lights. This model came with the milk V2 linear switches, but can be easily swapped out for any of your favorite switches due to the hot swap capability.
What do I like about the AL68
1. The aluminum case is impressive for the price.

The case is a full aluminum case with a chrome inlay at the bottom of the case. The case reminds me of much higher-priced custom cases. The inlay is very well designed and looks incredible, with rubber non-adjustable feet, which help keep the case from moving during typing or the super intense gaming sessions.
2. The switches are fantastic.

This is a point that can make or break a mechanical keyboard. The Milk V2s are some of the nicest switches I’ve ever used. They are so smooth. They are quiet but still have a very nice and very clean sound, probably thanks to the gasket mount. Also, the PCB is hot-swappable, so you can change switches for different ones or, if you like, use different switches for modifier keys.
3. The connection to your computer is flexible.

The connectivity is actually quite good with 3 Bluetooth connections, a wired connection, and 2.4 GHz wireless. I primarily use Bluetooth connections, and the wake-up to typing time is very low, even compared to some Bluetooth-only connecting keyboards, which is good, seeing as how the sleep timer on this keyboard is very, very short (we’ll talk about that in a moment). It also features a magnetic holder in the front of the case to hold the 2.4 GHz receiver, so it does not get lost. This is a feature that similarly priced keyboards would never dream of having.
What do I NOT like about this Yunzii keyboard?

As mentioned before, the sleep timer is incredibly short; it seems to be around three minutes of inactivity before it shuts off. And the real downside is – you cannot change it. I have looked and looked all over forms and their website and YouTube channel, and anyone who has this keyboard has tried, and as of the time of writing this, there is no way to change the sleep timer timeout. This would be a welcome feature on a firmware update.
Speaking of firmware and software that is where the real downside comes in, you can customize this keyboard, but you will need to do some research if you’re not familiar with using VIA (the interface website or app you use to customize the keyboards layers) and also it can be a bit clumsy to load the correct file for what you’re trying to do. I think the next best thing for Yunzii to do is to get in-house software for all their keyboards to offer a better customization experience.
Who should buy this product (and not buy the product)
Overall, this is a great keyboard. If you’re a gamer, if you’re looking to just get a better keyboard for your day-to-day office work, this is a great option. Premium feel, premium components. A great typing experience and overall just a fantastic keyboard to look at when it’s on your desk, which, let’s face it. That’s half of why you buy a mechanical keyboard, because it looks so epic, and the Yunzii AL 68 does look fantastic. But on top of looking fantastic, it has a great performance with only a few drawbacks. This is a great keyboard (Paid Link), if you are a beginner in the keyboard world or looking for the latest addition to your collection of mechanical keyboards.
So where should you buy it?
