Over the years, I, unfortunately, have gone through quite a few different wedding rings. Whether it be due to skin reactions to the materials, the ring being too large, etc. However, I have never really “been into” rings – that is – until I started digging a little bit more into them, especially in Ridge’s carbon fiber lineup.
I – of course, asked if they’d be open to sending one out for me to check out, and thankfully they did! As I have been quite impressed after wearing it now for a couple of months, and I have so much to say. Because of that, in this article I will be going through everything I do like, I don’t like, and exactly who these rings are for.

What is the Ridge Carbon 3K Carbon Fiber Ring?

- It's extremely comfortable
- The carbon weave actually looks like carbon
- The 6mm width is perfect.
- These rings have an incredible warranty
- I wish the silicone ring came in half sizes.
- The carbon fiber ring was scratched.
To keep it simple, this ring is just that, a ring. It won’t tell you your heartbeat, it won’t try to wake you up slowly in the morning, and it isn’t connected to your smartphone. However, there is something truly elegant about that.
That said, this is a high-quality ring that is made of 3K carbon fiber. The 3K stands for 3,000 carbon filaments in each section of the carbon fiber weave. Each of these sections is then woven into each other to create a sheet of carbon, which is then formed into a ring like this (obviously, I am heavily over-simplifying this). As for the specific ring I tested here, it is the 6mm option (the thinner variant). However, it also comes in the 8mm option.
If you are so inclined to purchase this ring, it does also come with a black silicone version of the ring as well! Which is perfect for when you are working on your car, or going to the gym. You can also purchase this ring in half size increments from size 6, all the way up to 15, however the silicone ring will come in a full size only (we’ll talk about that more later).
Now, everything about the ring is quite simple; however, what if I told you that it came with a 99-day Risk-Free Trial and 2 free loss replacements or size change replacements? It puts you a bit more at ease shelling out that price, doesn’t it?
How did I test the rings? I tested these rings, just like I test everything else on this site! I have been wearing these rings every day since receiving them, (around three months ago), and have been noting everything that I do like about them, don’t like about them and more. I then compiled everything into this article you see right here!
What do I like about the 3K Carbon Ring?
1. It’s extremely comfortable
These carbon fiber rings are the first set of rings I have worn that are a 6mm width. Every other ring I have ever owned has been an 8mm, and I don’t know that I’ll ever go back! The slimmer profile allows for me to bend my fingers better, I notice the rings less on a day-to-day basis, and they don’t get annoying when my fingers swell in the heat.
As for the ring design, the interior is smooth and rounded, meaning there aren’t any rough edges to cause cuts or irritate your skin. However, on the exterior, it does feature a beveled edge to give it a bit more rugged look (but not something you can feel while wearing it).
My history of rings is not super fun, as I’ve outgrown rings, been allergic to ring materials, and so much more. These rings? Haven’t run into that one bit.
2. The carbon weave actually looks like carbon
Now, my personal favorite type of carbon is forged carbon, rather than the carbon weave you see in these rings. However, from experience, I have found that forged carbon can tend to just look messy, or even like fingerprints after wear and tear has taken its toll on the product. Because of that, I chose the 3K weave you see here!
This is exactly what weaved carbon should look like; you can see the weave pattern and the depth that it gives. At first glance, it may look like a black ring, but when you take the time to look a bit closer, you can start to see the intricacies of the woven pattern. I especially appreciate it, considering how little surface area Ridge had to deal with on these rings.
3. The 6mm width is perfect.
I realize that the 6mm width is less about this specific ring, and more just a specific width, but I have to mention it here. As I discussed earlier, I have always worn rings that are an 8mm width, and the 6mm width is a game changer for me. Not only is it more comfortable, but I think it just might look better as well!
I think in an age where (I at least) am starting to try to live a bit more minimalistic life, having the thinner band just makes more sense for me. It’s less “out there” and a bit more subdued. Now, it’ll be a little more difficult to talk me out of wearing my pink and orange shoes…
4. These rings have an incredible warranty
When was the last time you bought something, where they told you “Hey, lose that product twice, we’ll just ship you a new one (and a second one) for free”, or “Hey, I saw you just grew out of those shoes, can we ship you another pair. Wait, you grew out of it again, here’s another pair!”. Yep, that is Ridge’s warranty for their rings.
Now, I fully realize that their margins must be amazing on these rings, and I have no doubt sending two replacements on these likely makes them break even on the product, but it is still crazy impressive. Never have I seen another product that has quite that good of a warranty, and it’s worth mentioning.
What do I not like about the rings?
1. I wish the silicone ring came in half sizes.
One of the awesome things about the carbon fiber ring is that you can buy your exact ring size! For example, my ring size is 10.5. However, the silicone ring that comes with it will come in a whole size only. The strange thing is that it comes in the size down rather than the size up. So, if you were to order the 10.5, it would come with a size ten silicone. However, I know that would be too small for me, and I know I wouldn’t wear it.
Because of this, I ordered a size 11 carbon fiber ring so that I would get a size 11 silicone ring so that I could wear both. The unfortunate thing about that is that my carbon fiber ring is now slightly larger than I would prefer.
Thankfully, the carbon ring is so lightweight (yah know, it’s carbon fiber) that it doesn’t have a tendency to fly off of my finger (it’s yet to happen). However, it’s a bummer that this is the case.
2. The carbon fiber ring was scratched.
Carbon fiber is well known for not only being lightweight but also impressively strong! However, it seems the coating on the exterior of the ring was no match for working on cars. Sure, I probably should have swapped it out for the silicone ring (that’s what it’s meant for). However, I totally spaced that when replacing the brakes and rotors on my car.
During that process, the ring did scrape on something and left a bit of a scratch on the surface of the ring. Of course, this likely would have happened to most any other rings, but it seems to me that its a bit more obvious on this ring than others that I have used through the years.
Who should buy this carbon fiber set?
At first glance, it might seem like this carbon fiber ring set from Ridge is incredibly expensive, especially when you compare it to other Ridge products (which aren’t cheap in their own right). However, when you take the fact that it’s a Ridge product out of the thought process, you start to realize that this might just be a fantastic deal. In a world where diamond rings, gold rings, and more are thousands of dollars, the $250 MSRP (it’s regularly on sale) doesn’t sound like too bad of a deal.
Not only are you saving on cost, but you have a REAL brand behind it (no weird white label brand from your local jeweler), a fantastic warranty, and, you know, your ring is made out of carbon fiber (plus you get a silicone one with it).
If you are looking for a wedding set, a groomsman gift, a birthday gift, etc, these really are a great deal. Now, you will likely find cheaper options, but I think this one is well worth its price.
Where should they buy it?
I would highly recommend purchasing your ring directly from Ridge’s website (Paid Link) (and not just because I’m an affiliate for them). It’s nice to have that direct support of the brand, along with the fact that they run considerably more sales on their website, and I have no doubt you’ll find yourself a coupon code to make it cheaper than anywhere else.
