I have been using a traditional style billfold wallet for many, many years, and I will say that the clean lines and modern look of the Nomad Goods Bifold Wallet definitely sets it apart from any other. From the lining in the card slots and the cash compartment to the small stitching details, there are plenty of features to love about this nomad wallet!

The nomad billfold wallet is a great example of a traditional wallet design but with a high level of simplicity. The wallet features an external card slot (for quick access) along with 6 slots on the inside with a cash slot (found on the top of the wallet when open), as you would expect. The leather is top-notch, and it feels and looks fantastic.
Now, this leather isn’t just any leather; it, in fact, is one of the best, being Horween leather. This type of leather tends to have better patina and is considerably more durable than most leathers in the long term.
What do I like about this bifold?
1. Lined slots for your cards and cash.
Most minimalist wallets (even ones I’ve tested) tend to damage your cards. Its an unfortunate biproduct of their more compact size. That’s why it was a breath of fresh air when this bifold from NOMAD had lined slots for my cards.
The card slots and the cash slot are very nice. It makes me feel like this wallet will take care of my cards. I no longer have to fret or worry about my cards getting damaged, bent, or scratched, just because they are being put in my wallet.
2. The design is super nice and clean.
Nomad made a more traditional design into a nice new, sleek, and modern look very well. Nomad did a good job with this. The design reminds me of how a car company would take design elements off an old car and use them in a new car. Nods to the old on the new.
If you are someone that REALLY wants to upgrade to a modern wallet but can’t quite get away from the old-school bifold, you’ll feel right at home in this wallet.
3. The Horween leather.
Yes we talk a lot about the leather on the channel but this is some of the nicest I have ever felt. It’s by Horween Leather, and if you know about leather, you know that it is some of the nicest leather out there. it is super cool that Nomad chose Horween Leather for this wallet./ it will wear-in and get a great patina over time and will hold up to anything you could throw at it.
What do I NOT like about this Nomad Goods wallet?
1. The exterior pocket.
The exterior pocket on the wallet is kind of an anomaly for its size. A normal card is fairly loose and has a lot of room on either side. This could be used for a train ticket, bus pass, or anything that might be larger. I’m not sure, but this definitely raises some eyebrows about why it’s so large.
I would most definitely recommend not keeping an ID, debit card, or anything super valuable in this outer pocket, as it seems a bit looser than it should be.
